He concealed his identity dressed as raccoon

Cops in Dublin arrested a man who spray painted anti-gay slurs on a well-known gay bar while dressed in a racoon suite. And the commentary he left on the front of the establishment was truly hateful.

Slurs like “queers, fa**ot, fag bar, and “homo fag” were just a few of the ugly things he sprayed on The George Bar. There were also swastikas.

According to local reports as mentioned in Gay Star News, Dublin police nabbed a 20-year old man in relation to the crime.

A law enforcement spokesman confirmed that the man was being detailed at Pearse Street Garda Station and being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

In attempt to hide his identity, Closed-Circuit Television footage captured how the thug tried to conceal his identity by putting on a huge raccoon suite.

A source said: “He was wearing a costume at the time. It was a one-piece outfit in the form of a raccoon.”

The George manager, Darragh Flynn, has said workers at the bar were focusing on the positive support they had received in the aftermath of the incident.

‘We would like to now focus on the positives of today, that one homophobic act has resulted in an overwhelming amount of messages of solidarity and offers of assistance,” he shared in a statement appearing in the Irish Mirror.

“It has truly brightened our hearts to receive such love and support.”

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Per the Irish Mirror:

“The slogans, which were written using chalk, were removed by staff on Saturday morning at the premises. This is the first incident of homophobic vandalism that has occurred at the popular bar since the same-sex marriage referendum passed two years ago, according to bar manager Darragh Flynn.”
