After being raped, they threw him into river

A gay disabled man who was raped, beaten and robbed by homophobic attackers has seen justice served. What follows is a disgusting and extreme story, as reported by Gay Star News.

A Belgium court sentenced the attackers, Michel L (38) and Robert M (27) to 11 and 7 years respectively for their crimes. And what they did is almost too unbelievable for words.

Here is what happened:

On January 31, 2015 the thugs attacked a mentally disabled gay man who is only identified as “Guy” in press reports.

Apparently, the duo picked up Guy in a cafe where he was drinking a beverage. According to reports, they befriended him and made him feel comfortable.

At some point, Guy revealed that he was gay. After his disclosure, Michael and Robert offered to give him a ride home.

But they had no intentions of being kind to him. In fact, their intentions were much more nefarious.

They ended up driving Guy to the outer banks of the river Ourthe. Here’s a video of the actual river so you can see the place for yourself.

It was there that Michael manipulated Guy into giving him oral sex. Then things went from bad to worse because Michael started calling Guy names and began to beat him.

As reported in ADHEOS, the two men then assaulted and robbed him. Afterwards, they dragged him through the dirt and threw him into the rapid, ice cold waters of the river.

During the beating and robbing, the duo also called him extreme anti-gay slurs.

Through sheer will, Guy was able to save himself by hanging on to a tree branch for dear life. Eventually, passersby found him and came to his rescue.

As shared by GSN:

“The first suspect was arrested in October of the same year. The second man was arrested in December in the southern French town of Carcassonne.

A court initially sentenced Michel to six years in prison for attempted murder.

They dropped the charges of rape and confinement on the basis that Guy had ‘consented’, but his homophobia was deemed an aggravating circumstance.

Robert got a four-year suspended sentence with the court emphasizing his role as Michel’s follower rather than a main aggressor.

But Guy’s lawyer appealed the decision. And early on Thursday (16 February), the Court of Appeals overthrew the original verdict and handed down the new, tougher sentences.”

Yes, Guy was raped and thanks to his lawyer, the court agreed. At least he was able to live and see justice served.
