Fitness Without Weights?
Tired of the same old same old when it comes to exercising and fitness? Perhaps, you need to start thinking outside of the box.
If we haven’t grown up knowing how to exercise and stay fit, we might get lost at the idea as adults. I know I certainly have. But then I came to the relaxation that I didn’t need to exercise with weights or on a treadmill. There are PLENTY of other ways that you can exercise. Here are just five out of the box ideas to help get you going.
Let’s start you off easy. Swimming is a perfectly good way to exercise. Swimming is close enough to the typical “gym exercise” idea while still being something entirely different. Take a dip into your local pool and go around a few laps. Enjoy it and enjoy the fun of being in the water.
Not into the whole water thing? Fine. Maybe you need something with a bit more altitude to it.
Mountain climbing is another out of the box way to exercise. Mountain climbing works a lot of muscles. From working your biceps and upper body strength to working your brain. You have to figure out your way from the bottom to the top. Which ledge is too far to reach? Which one will ensure a safe route? All of that goes into mountain climbing.
Find a gym or event space near you that has a mountain climbing area and give it a try! As you go, you might even consider trying it out in the wild.
Or maybe you want to be outside in nature. If so, consider hiking.
Hiking is a great way to get your body fit. Long walks can seem pretty easy at first, but hiking is can be more challenging than you think. A hike can test your endurance as well as your directional skills. And depending on your location, the trials surrounding you can have extra challenges like along the way. If you want to start, search for hiking paths in your area.
But maybe you want to do something more closed in and under the guidance of a pro. If so, try a dancing class. From salsa to hip hop or waacking, there are plenty of different styles to choose from. Find a dance studio near you and see what their prices are like. Not only can a dance class be a great workout, but it can also be a social activity for you to go out and meet friends or more.
Speaking of a social activity that also works as a workout, you can try a sports league. Whether it’s flag football, dodgeball, baseball, or whatever else, there are plenty of sports to pick from. If you live in a populated area, there is bound to be some sort of sports league around you. Search online, ask friends, or go to a community center to see if anyone there knows of a group. Then go out and play, have fun, and get fit!
Out Of The Box Fitness
Out of the Box Fitness isn’t as hard as you might think. You don’t have to go inside a gym and lift weight in order to stay healthy. Instead, you could consider one of the above options or one that similarly out of the box. Then have fun while you get fit.
