Criminal Arrested For Using Jack'd To Mug A Gay Man
Move over Grindr, it looks like Jack’d is taking over your territory. And no, we don’t mean offering a gay app for dating and/or hookup. We mean, providing a space for criminals to steal from gay men.
The Tennessean reports that 28-year-old Desmond S. Clements from Atlanta, who has an expansive criminal file, was arrested on Sunday. Clements has been charged with robbery, criminal impersonation, and vandalism.
But what did Clements do? He stole from a Tennessee man whom he met on the gay dating app Jack’d.
According to the arrest affidavit, Clements used the app to arrange a meeting between him and another man at the house where he was staying. After the man arrived, Clements met him outside, allegedly threatened him, and asked for $100.

When the man said that he didn’t have enough cash on him, Clements drove the car to an ATM at a liquor store. Clements then warned that the man should hurry as the longer the victim took, the more damage the culprit would do to the car. This eventually led to the keying of the car.
At the ATM, the man told a witness he was being robbed and the witness called the police, who quickly arrived and arrested Clements.
Clements, apparently being amused by his arrest, shared while in transit with police, “you don't even have the real me, because that isn't me.” Clements then gave police his real information.
When they ran his info, Nashville police discovered that Clements had an outstanding warrant out of Georgia.
Desmond S. Clements is currently in a jail cell in Nashville on $11,500 bond.
