8 Tips for Staying Cool This Summer

Cool Tips

Woo! It is hot outside!

For many of us, we are in the midst of Summer. That means hot weather everywhere we turn. And with the world still being in semi-lockdown, it’s hard for us to get our typical summertime fun. Many pools are closed, water parks are a no-go for a lot of people, and several outdoor activities are also limited. So, what can you do to stay cool this summer? Here are some ideas to help you chill out.

Drink Water

First and foremost, DRINK WATER. This should be said any day of the year, but it is especially important right now. Not only are temperatures rising, but there’s plenty of stuff stressing us out and affecting our health. Drinking water is the first thing you can do to defend yourself against all that.

Use Fans

The second you can do is to get a fan. Whether it be a personal fan you wave in your face, a small electric fan to hold in your hand, or a bigger one to blow cool air in your room, fans are always helpful.

Ice Cream

What better time in the year is there to indulge in some sweet and cold treats than the summer? Grab yourself a cone, popsicle, water ice/Italian ice, slushy, or whatever else. It’ll keep you cool and give you something to smile over.

Cold Showers

Now we know some will freak out over this idea, but trust us on this one. You should get a good ol’ cold shower. Cold showers have been scientifically proven to energize you, increase blood circulation, reduce muscle soreness after working out, help calm itching skin, and more. But on that top of that, it’ll help your body stay cool during these hot summer days. Try it!

Wear Light Clothing

Of course, you have to be mindful of what you wear too. Who would want to be caught wearing heavy clothes during these hot temperatures? Not us, and we’re guessing you don’t either. Try dressing in shorts and short sleeves. Maybe even put on a tank top, dress, or crop top. Also, consider wearing lighter colors while the sun’s up so you’re not absorbing all that heat.

Keep The Curtains Drawn

Even when you’re inside, you might want to consider keeping yourself away from the sun’s rays. Draw your curtains to block out that ever bothersome sun.

Freeze Your Sheets And Pillow

And when it’s time to go to bed, protect yourself by getting some cold bedsheets. Freeze them if you can and throw your pillow in too. You’ll love the feeling of a cool bed on a stifling summer night.

Sleep With Breathable Cotton

Also, don’t take your clothes off once you do get on/under those sheets. There’s a thought that you’ll be cooler by getting undressed. But, wearing cotton can help you stay cool too. That’s because it’ll absorb your sweat instead of your bed. Then, your body will be able to maintain a cool and stable body temperature.
