Brian Sims Clapped Back At Daryl Metcalfe
Can I just say, I’m proud to have Brian Sims be my state representative? Not every state gets a loud and proud gay man who's also a dedicated politician as their state rep, but Pennsylvania is lucky enough to have Brian Sims.

Fellow PA State Representative Daryl Metcalfe is known for being a hateful monster, and he acted just like that when he went on Facebook to rant about redistricting. During that hateful speech, he called his fellow representative Brian Sims a “lying homosexual.” He then doubled down on his insult by saying that Sims’s sexual orientation is an “immoral behavior.”
Thankfully, Sims had a thing or two to say back at Metcalfe.
After getting wind of Metcalfe’s rantings and accusations, Brian Sims quickly shared on Twitter what he thought of the man.
“My most infamously bigoted colleague, Rep. Daryl Metcalfe took to his “burn book” to attack my colleagues of color and myself call me a “lying homosexual,” he captioned. “I could use your help as I go up against this type of blatant homophobia and bigotry in the Capital.”
“For the record, he’s a racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, bigot,” Sims later added. “All of those words have definitions. His behavior, his public statements, and his legislation over the years all clearly rise to the level of those definitions.”

For the record, he’s a racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, bigot. All of those words have definitions. His behavior, his public statements, and his legislation over the years all clearly rise to the level of those definitions.

Then, Metcalfe chimed in to insult Sims again while trying to play the victim after casting the first stone. That said, Sims wasn’t letting Metcalfe get away with pretending he wasn’t at fault.
You’re a gaslighter who threatens people and then backs down and claims victimhood when you’re called out. It’s the ultimate sign of intellectual dishonesty. Grow up and at least have the courage of your broken convictions.

Then Sims added that he’s looking forward to the next time the two politicians see each other in person, and we just wish we could see recordings of that interaction.
Again, Brian Sims is pretty great, and we love seeing his personality blossom while he also gets down to the business of politics.

This latest rant won’t be his last but it could be his last as the Chair of the powerful State Government Committee that oversees Civil Rights Bills and Gerrymandering Legislation.
