Well, that’s kind of what happened for some people (apparently) after consumers of drank Bestherbs Coffee LLC. After an analysis by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the product has been recalled by the manufacturer for containing ingredients similar to Viagra.

The FDA's labs confirmed evidence of desmethyl carbodenafil; an ingredient that is structurally similar to sildenafil. This is the active ingredient found in Viagra.

There were other issues discovered as well. The coffee product also contained undeclared milk, which also puts anyone with a milk sensitivity or allergy at risk.

When a physician prescribes an erectile medication like Viagra, they first take your entire medical history and current medications into consideration.

Dr Philip Werthman, M.D., director of the Center for Male Reproductive Medicine and Vasectomy Reversal in Los Angeles, told Men’s Health that when a person is in a high-risk group, they often won’t prescribe the erectile dysfunction drug.

If they do prescribe, the person’s health is closely monitored for side effects and other reactions.

There are many herbal products available over the counter and online that promise to help men with woody issues available for sale.

Certain teas for example are thought to offer male consumers a natural alternative to drugs like Viagra and Cialis to help with firming things up.

As an aside, there is some research to suggest that men who drink two to three cups of regular, caffeinated coffee per day are les likely to experience erectile dysfunction.

Does that mean you should start downing coffee like a fiend? Probably not. Health experts suggest that because many people drink coffee with sugar, it can place them at risk for diabetes.
