News Updates: Alleged Gay Bashing Pastor Gets Mistrial & Gus Kenworthy Talks To Tyler Oakley

News Updates?

In this post, we have two updates for you.

We’ve reported and talked about these two topics in the past week, and wanted to share some updated information in a short but sweet wrap-up article.

First, the North Carolina pastor who allegedly beat up a congregate with 23 other members of the church in an attempt to “exorcise his gay demon” has been given a mistrial.

The reasoning for this has nothing to do with the defense. Instead, it has everything to do with one of the jurors.

As Queerty reports, Judge Gary Gavenus warned the jury not to bring in any outside material into the courtroom. But, one juror, Terry Shade Jr., was not listening.

Shade brought in three documents to share with the other jurors during deliberation and was caught.

Once he found out, Judge Gavenus arrested Shade, and declared a mistrial.

Brooke Covington will now have to go through a totally new trial with a completely new and unbiased jury.

Second, last week we talked about how Gus Kenworthy, the Olympic Silver Medalist Skier, has had an upturn in his life since he came out.

Kenworthy made the news last week because he opened up about his fears of being an out athelete and the great relief he’s found after the fact.

And now Kenworthy is doing it again, but he’s now taking some extended time to talk about all of that and more.

Gus Kenworthy got together with big name Youtuber Tyler Oakley to talk about more of his life now that he’s out.

The topics ranged greatly from his first time kissing a man, to advice on coming out of the closet, and even more adult conversation like the first time he saw gay pornography, and his favorite star from the industry.
