Reports he was treated like a “terrorist”
Muslim-phobia seems to have no bounds. Recently, a gay porn star shared that he was strip-searched and aggressively questioned at an airport because officials thought he had a Muslim sounding name.
The actor is Ibrahim Moreno. The French-Cuban entertainer revealed he had traveled to Tel Aviv, Israel to attend to a personal appearance at a gay dance club.
In his Facebook post, Mr. Moreno stated that security officials at Ben Gurion International Airport treated him like he was a “terrorist”.
Relieved to have the event behind him, he said, “Finally at home after a rather dreadful weekend.”
Moreno is a Lucas Entertainment actor. He also identifies as Christian, as mentioned in the Times of Israel piece on this story.
‘I never thought traveling to another country would make me feel like shit.’
Moreno detailed in his post how security made him go through a two and half hour ordeal to enter the country. He also shared that he was questioned three times.
“Believed the worst would have happened, but no… it was only a sign of what would come later,” shared the entertainer, foreshadowing that things got worse when he tried to board an aircraft back to France.
Apparently, security officials were suspicious of his first name, “Ibrahim”.
“I have been humiliated, treated like a terrorist’ said the entertainer. “Today at the Tel Aviv airport back home I have been humiliated, treated like a terrorist and simply because my name is IBRAHIM. Why can not I have a name of Arab origin?” he posted.
Moreno then added:
‘I’m GAY, I’m not a MUSLIM. I don’t speak any Arabic language, but if I carry a cross that allows me to be judged and humiliated.”
When trying to leave Tel Aviv, Moreno shares he was interviewed four times and that all of his suitcases were emptied out by security.
Additionally, his personal hygiene items were thrown out and he was forced to undress.
