Kansas Teacher Arrested For Having Sexual Relations With Student in School

Kansas Teacher Arrested For Having Sex With 18-Year-Old Student

A Kansas high school teacher is in big trouble after having sex with a student he found on a dating app.

Olathe East High School history teacher Justin Adrian is facing a court case after he was caught having sex with an 18-year-old student of his.

33-year-old Adrian connected with the student through an app on September 6. Through that conversation, they found out that the boy was a student at the Olathe East High School and that Adrian was a teacher.

The conversation turned sexual in nature and, according to a probable cause affidavit made public this Tuesday, Adrian said that he could lose his job if people found out that the two were even talking.

While the age of consent is 16 in Kansas, it is a felony for teachers and administrative leaders to have sex with students of their school.

But old boy Adrian couldn’t keep his brain turned on and his lower half turned off. He then asked the student if they could meet that very day, but the student said no.

The student then dropped by Adrian’s classroom during the next school day and Adrian locked the door. The two then allegedly had a sexual encounter.

Afterwards, Adrian gave the student a pass so he wouldn’t be marked late to his next class and the student sneaked out through a back door.

Later, the student told a family member about the encounter who then informed school officials. Adrian was then immediately placed on administrative leave on the same day (September 10).

On September 12, Adrian resigned from his position in the Shawnee City Council.

“Out of respect for the city of Shawnee and the city council member position I have proudly held for eight months, I have reluctantly and respectfully made the decision to resign from my position as City Council member, Ward III effective immediately upon notice,” Adrian wrote in a Sept. 12 letter.

Adrian was then arrested on September 25, but later posted bail. He is expected back in court on November 7.
