Brooklyn Middle School Teacher Was Arrested For Molesting A Student
A Brooklyn middle school teacher was arrested and charged with multiple counts of engaging in criminal sexual acts, sexual misconduct, and child endangerment after having sex with a 14-year-old student.
34-year-old Andre Braddy was an eighth-grade math and advanced algebra teacher at Lenox Academy, PS 235, until just recently.
The teacher was popular and beloved by students and had worked at the academy since September of 2015. But, one student came to the police with allegations of having sex with the teacher.
Braddy allegedly had oral and anal sex with a male student at least three times since March 19. On top of that, the sexual encounters happened either inside a classroom or a school bathroom. In addition, police discovered that the two sexted and Braddy sent sexual pictures to the student.
But, the student eventually went to his mother who then alerted the authorities. The police then set up a controlled phone call between the boy and the teacher in order to catch Braddy red handed.

Now, Braddy is being charged and could face up to seven years in prison if he’s convicted. Plus, he was held on $75,000 bond or $25,000 cash bail, placed in protective custody and put on suicide watch.
Though Braddy pleaded not guilty, there is an overwhelming amount of evidence set up against him. Even Braddy’s lawyer said that the allegations against him are “disturbing” while talking to the New York Daily News.
“These deeply disturbing allegations have no place in our schools, and he was immediately removed from the school,” says a Department of Education spokesperson in a statement. “He will remain away from students pending the outcome of the investigation, and we will pursue his removal from payroll as soon as legally possible.”
On top of gathering more information about Braddy’s case, the authorities are also investigating whether or not Braddy has any more victims from the school since he started working there in 2015.
Braddy is expected in court again on May 1. We’ll keep you updated on how his case proceeds.
