Lets Help Him Win The Competition
Did you know that PETA has a “Sexiest Vegan Next Door” contest?
Well, apparently they do and they’re winding down the names for their next winner.
And who is it that we at GayPopBuzz are rooting for? That would be Daniel Dyviniak.
Daniel Dyviniak is gay, a nurse, from Washington state, and is HIV-positive.
Dyviniak’s bio for the contest reads:
“After being diagnosed with HIV, Daniel became much more concerned with the well-being of others, including animals, and went vegan. He works as a nurse and advocates a healthy, plant-based diet to people who have been newly diagnosed with HIV around the world as a way to stay healthy in spite of the harsh effects of the medication.”
Tracy Reiman, the executive vice president of PETA even added about Dyviniak that:
“As a nurse, Daniel protects the well-being of his patients, and as a compassionate vegan, he not only protects himself but also prevents more than 100 animals a year from being killed for food. Each one of the finalists in PETA’s contest is a testament to how sexy vegans are—inside and out.”
And if fighting to protect the lives and health of others wasn’t a good enough cause, it seems that Dyviniak has simultaneously seen the same rewarded to him.
Daniel Dyviniak notes that his heath has improved since he became a vegan three years ago. His liver and kidney health has gotten better, his skin is clearer, and his cholesterol levels have lowered.
And now Daniel Dyviniak may be getting the best reward yet as he has a 1 in 20 shot of earning a free trip for two to Hawaii.
So far, hundreds of people have entered but only Dyviniak, 9 other men, and 10 women are left as finalist.
If you want to see Daniel Dyviniak win, you can vote for him here until June 21. Then PETA will pick the winners by basing it on the votes and other factors. The announcement will quickly follow on June 28.
If Dyviniak does in fact win, he won’t be the first LGBTQ person to win the contest. In fact, just last year PETA awarded the title to Dexter Thomas, the first transgender winner.
