Kumail Nanjiani Got Ripped For Marvel’s “The Eternals”

Shirtless Superheroes

Well, someone’s looking super fit.

Being an actor is hard, guys. We don’t give them enough credit for the multiple things that go into acting. It’s not just learning how to me emotive on camera, it’s a lot of off-camera work too. And that’s especially true if you act in superhero movies.

Actors in Marvel or DC movies have to be ripped and physically fit in order to look the part. Just look at the transformation that Paul Rudd did when he first took on the role of Ant-Man. And you know that the guys will all get a scene where they have to appear shirtless and show off their muscles. It is an expectation at this point.

But is that true for every male actor that will appear on The Eternals? The Eternals is shaping up to be a star-studded movie. With names like Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, and Kit Harringnton, the film is going to be an ensemble of respected actors. But right now, it’s none of those names that are trending online. Instead, it’s Kumail Najiani that’s trending.

Kumail Nanjiani

Just yesterday, we were talking about male thirst traps on this site. And it looks like Nanjiani is trying to earn his place on the list at the very last second.

Kumail Nanjiani, who will be playing Kingo in the film, posted a set of pictures on Instagram 2 days ago explaining his journey in getting fit for the upcoming Marvel movie.

“I never thought I’d be one of those people who would post a thirsty shirtless, but I’ve worked way too hard for way too long so here we are,” he wrote. “You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”

He then added:

“I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world. I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before. It would have been impossible without these resources and time.”

It’s important to recognize Najiani’s words here. He put in heaps of work and money in order to look this ripped and shredded. So while we can enjoy the pictures and the look, we shouldn’t internalized all this fantasizing over the body. It takes A LOT to look like that.

But despite that message, there were plenty of people salivating over Najiani on social media.
