We now know the names and faces of the Sexiest Men of 2019.
Every year, People Magazine releases a list of the sexiest men of 2019. The list includes names and faces attached to several fields within the world of entertainment. From Sexiest Reality Star to Sexiest Funny Guy, and Sexiest Athlete. All of that ends with People Magazine naming their Sexiest man Alive (in that year).
People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive announcement has been going since 1985. The very first “Sexiest Man Alive” was Mel Gibson. The magazine has named many actors and personalities the “Sexiest Man Alive,” but sometimes their choices didn’t go over well. While 2018’s Idris Elba pick was celebrated by all, it came after a dismal 2017. In 2017, People Magazine chose country singer Blake Shelton for the role. The internet was not happy.

But who made the cut this year?
This year’s “Sexiest Athlete” title went to Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry. He won the title over Rafael Nadal, Michael Phelps, Bubba Wallace, and Mike Fisher.
Next, The Daily Show host Trevor Noah won the title of “Sexiest Funny Guy.” He was picked among a well-respected group of funny men including Hasan Minhaj, John Mulaney, Rob Delaney, and Kumail Nanjiani.

Then, we have Crazy Rich Asians’ and Last Christmas’ Henry Golding as the winner of the “Sexiest Funky Fashion Sense.” In order to get this title, Golding was chosen over contenders like A$AP Rocky, Donald Glover, Jeff Goldblum, and Eddie Redmayne.
As for the winner of the “Sexiest 2019 Reality Star,” it was Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski. The celebrity cook and personality beat out other realities stars like The Bachelorette‘s “Air Force” Mike Johnson and Tyler Cameron, Vanderpump Rules‘ Tom Sandoval and Dancing with the Stars’ Val Chmerkovskiy.
But who got the big title? Who is THE Sexiest Man Alive for the year of 2019? Turns out, it is… John Legend.

John Legend — a man so talented he became one of only 15 stars to achieve EGOT status last year — is making history yet again: the 40-year-old singer has now been crowned PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive.
After hearing the news that he’d been chosen, Legend shares that he was excited but also a little scared for when the official announcement would drop.
“I was excited, but I was a little scared at the same time because it’s a lot of pressure,” the entertainer tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story. “Everyone’s going to be picking me apart to see if I’m sexy enough to hold this title. I’m [also] following Idris Elba, which is not fair and is not nice to me!”
Congratulations to John Legend and all the other “Sexiest Men of 2019.” It didn’t go unnoticed that all of the men are men of color or LGBTQ. It seems that “sexy” has many faces and walks of life. And we couldn’t be happier to see it.
