She Knew His Plans
Noor Salman is the wife of Omar Mateen who walked into the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida in the summer of 2016. Mateen then shot into the crowd, killing 49 and wounding an addition 58.
Now, it’s been revealed that Salman knew of her husband’s plans.
In the 12-page handwritten statement, which was made back on June 12 of 2016 but has only now been released by USA Today, Salman says that her husband was upset about the treatment of Muslims and that he planned to retaliate against Americans.
Part of the statement goes, “My fears had come true and he did what he said he was going to do. I was in denial and I could not believe that the father of my child was going to hurt other people.”
She apparently also saw the murder weapon. The statement says she saw a gun in Mateen’s car along with ammunition.
The statement also says she knew that her husband was looking for a location for her attack and was specifically looking at nightclubs.
Apparently, the moment he found Pulse he told her, “This is my target.”
“I knew when he left the house he was going to Orlando to attack the Pulse nightclub,” Salman said in the statement.

That said, this statement completely contradicts what Salman’s said before.
Before this announcement, she claimed to have known nothing about her husband’s plans. In addition, her attorney’s defense was that she was not only in the dark, but afraid of her husband because he abused and raped her regularly.
Plus, Salman only wrote this statement after being questioned by FBI agents for hours without an attorney present.
This has caused some questions to arise about whether Salman was forced into confessing.
