A 30-Hour Date In A Coffin?
Would you lay down in a coffin for 30 hours to prove your love (and make money)?
This is a question many people are currently asking themselves as Six Flags is offering the challenge to its theme park goers. People with extreme claustrophobia look away, as Six Flags is a trigger warning to the max. The adventure park is offering $600, two 2020 gold season passes, and a “fright fest prize package” to strong couples who can stand lying in a coffin for 30 hours.
But that’s not all, those 30 hours will be horrific ones full of distractions and tricks. Six Flags warns wannabe contestants that they will throw light effects, atmospheric tricks, and an assortment of gimmicks at coffin layers.
“Participants must be 18 years of age or older, and in good health. Participants will potentially be exposed to fog, dramatic lighting, flash photography and extreme weather conditions. Safety is our number one priority. We maintain the right to alter any rules and conditions at any time.”
But anyone interested in the challenge has to act fast. Registration ends at Noon on September 29. Then, six couples will be chosen amongst the pool of applicants to the 30-Hour Couples Coffin Challenge. Then on October 12 through Sunday, October 13, those couples will be in their worst nightmare.

But hey, you can become a spectator if you don’t get chosen. Just show up to the Maryland location and watch coffins for 30-hours straight. That sounds like fun, right? Yeah, we didn’t think so either. But we know there will be some who go anyway.
This isn’t the first time that Six Flags has held a crazy event to honor the Halloween Season (a time of peak theme park traveling). According to Ask Men, 2018 saw six people spending 30 hours in a smaller coffin. That time, all six participants were able to hold out for the entire 30 hours. Good for Brian Johnson, Keith Richter, Matt Daley, Olivia Crabtree, Stacey Wagner and Stevi Rogers. Honestly, I could never do it!
