College Students and Personal Trainer Certification

There’s a new trend of college students taking an interest in becoming personal trainers. You do not need a soothsayer to tell you that it is natural for them considering the physical activities they go through regularly.

More college students are becoming fitness enthusiasts. The craze for keeping fit is on a high. These students are in it for different reasons: some are athletes, and it is expected of them. Others are undergoing fitness training because it is healthy.

In light of this, it isn’t surprising that college students want to become personal trainers. Apart from the ‘passion’ aspect, many of them are thinking of the business aspect too.

An increase in the number of people engaging in fitness activities means that there are lots of potential clients for personal trainers out there.

Before one can become a certified personal trainer, there are specific steps one has to take. It always ends up enrolling for personal trainer certification with a reputable organization.

For informed college students, the general observation is that many of them prefer to earn their personal training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). You might wonder why that’s the case, but this article will shed more light on the reasons behind their choice.

NASM Certification

The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) offers some of the best certifications related to the fitness industry. They offer certified personal training certification, corrective exercise specialist certification, performance enhancement specialist certification as well as fitness nutrition certification.

If you’re looking for the best personal training certification and you’re confused about the organization to earn your certification from, NASM is an excellent choice for you.

NASM is a fitness organization that was established in 1987 and has churned out hundreds of thousands of successful candidates since then.

Tyler Read, an accomplished personal trainer and owner of PTPioneer.com believes that people need workout partners and learning basic fitness programs is a significant step to encouraging others. This is why a NASM certification is such an excellent choice for most people.

The NASM fitness program has been created around its distinct Optimum Performance Training (OPT) framework. The organization believes that learning is gradual. It’s why it has set up its certification to cover five stages of fitness.

These stages are:

The Stabilization Stage

This stage is designed to teach candidates how to aid clients’ breathing and functional heart rate.

The Strength-building Exercise Stage

This stage focuses on weightlifting and other related fitness drills. For those who want to learn core workout for men, this is the certification for them.

The Hypertrophy Stage

This stage aims to teach candidates for muscle building drills. It is quite popular, and clients employ the services of personal trainers for that purpose.

The Maximal Strength Stage

This stage focuses on testing how strong a client is.

The Power Stage

It is the last stage, and it teaches candidates how to set up bodybuilding and powerlifting regimens. For motivation, Chase Ketron is a bodybuilder worth seeing.
