But did you know that by not rinsing your face of the day’s residue, you may be aging your skin by as much as a decade? It’s true. When you don’t clear the debris from your pores, such as toxins and pollutants, they have the ability to settle in and cause wrinkles.

According to dermatologist, Dr. Christine Choi Kim, rinsing each night removes harmful toxins so that your face can breathe.
Notice we said rinsing and not washing. That’s because washing involves detergents and soaps, which can be harmful to your face. Rinsing, however, involves splashing your face with warm water – a quick spritz if you will.
If you want to use a something to help with the rinsing process, the folks at CeraVe’ offer a great Face product. We like it because it’s gentle and non-drying!
2. Eat an orange
The suggestion of eating an orange (or taking 500 mg of vitamin C) might seem silly as an anti-aging secret but its grounded in science.
That’s because a recent study found that this powerful antioxidant helps your body build collagen – the protein that gives your skin its firm and supple appearance.
And there is some evidence to suggest that vitamin C may also help make topical agents with antioxidants more effective! Why not try to eat one orange a day?
3. Take 7 or 8 seriously
Most men don’t get nearly enough sleep, according to most of the studies. And that’s a shame because if you don’t get at least 7 hours a night, you double the odds of forming new wrinkles and age spots, according to a UH Case Medical Center study.
When you skimp on sleep, you’re increasing stress hormones bigtime. In turn, your skin inflames, which contributes to rapid aging. Whenever possible, aim for a minimum of 7 hours. If you can get in 8, even better!
4. Sleep on your back
Do you sleep on your side? A lot of men do. It’s kind of comfortable, right? Well, according to anti-aging experts, it’s also a good way to encourage wrinkles.
Many dermatologists will tell you they see more pronounced “fine lines” on the parts of the face people sleep on, like the cheek area.

To prevent unwanted crags from forming, try snoozing on your back. Prop your head up on a pillow to allow extra fluids to drain down, which will help keep your eyes from looking bagged out and puffy in the morning.
5. Get Retinol
Retinol is nothing more than a vitamin A derivative. It also happens to be one of the most effective anti-aging topicals on the market.
You can ask your physician for a prescription or you can try the over the counter route for starters.
An excellent one that many guys have found useful is Body By Merry’s Retinol cream. It’s lightweight texture feels great and it doesn’t cause a ton of redness like other topicals.
6. Topical Vitamin C
Earlier, we told you how vitamin C helps to build collagen. But can applying this vitamin also aid in the clearing of age spots and give your skin a youthful glow?
The answer is yes.
Current research suggests topical creams containing vitamin C are very effective with helping to bring balance to your tone while reducing discoloration.

You probably already knew it was important to moisturize each day. What you may not know is that certain products can actually cause wrinkles.
