Prostate milking explained
When we hear the term prostate massage, it conjures up all sorts of mental imagery. While it can be fun to think about having a sensitive area caressed and milked, it’s not all fun and games.
That’s because a prostate massage offers very real benefits. As a way of helping to support National Prostate Health month, celebrated September 15 – 21, I decided to pen this piece.
Recently, MV spoke with Forrest Andrews, Product and Business Manager for Aneros; a Houston based company that manufactures a number products designed for men.
Our goal was to learn more about prostate milking and identify potential plusses.
Before we dive in, it might help to have a working definition of what a prostate is.
What is the prostate?
The prostate is a gland that rests below your bladder and in front of your rectum. It surrounds part of the urethra. That’s the tube in your penis that carries urine from your bladder.
What is prostate massage?
At its core, a prostatic massage (AKA prostate milking) is a technique used clear the prostatic duct. Think of it as a pipeline that runs between your prostate and the rest of your reproductive and urinary system.
When massaging this gland, it may cause spontaneous secretion of fluid (ejaculate). When properly executed, the massage may help cleanse this duct of toxicity.
So, what are the potential benefits of prostate milking? Here’s 7 of them. Quick disclaimer – it’s important to talk to your medical doctor if you suspect you have a prostate
1. Greater volume of ejaculate
The smooth muscles of the prostate contract during orgasm supplying much of the pumping action observed during ejaculation.
Erotic prostate massage physically expresses the gland (milking) yielding greater amounts of prostate fluid.
2. More intense orgasms
The posterior surface of the prostate is covered with sensory nerve endings. Stimulation of this area via the rectum serves as a supplemental source of stimulation.
Combining penile and prostate stimulation has long been known for generating orgasms of a much greater order magnitude.
3. Stronger erections
Prostate massage leads to more powerful arousal that promotes stronger erections.
Also, self-administered prostate massage with devices such as the vibrating stimulator plug (see Amazon) tones pelvic floor muscles (Kegel exercises).
The toning of pelvic floor muscles has been shown to promote stronger erection and stronger ejaculation.
4. Non-ejaculatory orgasms (Super Orgasms)
Contrary to popular belief, orgasm and ejaculation are two separate phenomena. Ejaculation occurs as result of orgasm, NOT the other way around.
Orgasms generated via prostate massage take advantage of a secondary arousal pathway.
These orgasms are generally non-ejaculatory events and are known for their tremendous intensity… often felt over the entire body. Sometimes called Male G-spot or Super Orgasms they have been well documented in the Eastern traditions of Tantra and Dao.
As there is no ejaculation with the Super O, there is no refractory period (loss of arousal) hence they can occur in multiples as well!
5. Relief from symptoms of prostate inflammation/prostatitis
Prior to the advent of antibiotics, prostate massage was considered the gold standard for the treatment of prostate inflammation and prostatitis.
In recent years, holistic practitioners and some physicians have revisited prostate massage as another treatment modality, used on its own in combination with antibiotic therapy.
6. Better prostate health
Prostate fluid is produced in small sacs inside the prostate gland called “acini”. Some men develop deposits in this fluid that become hard over time, impacting these areas and creating inflammation.
While the reasons for this are not fully understood, it’s believed that prostate massage may help unblock “acini” through a more thorough emptying of the prostate.
7. Relief from symptoms of BPH
Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (enlargement of the prostate) is a condition that effects 50% of all men between the ages of 50 and 60 and 90% of men over the age of 80.
Prostate massage has been shown to increase circulation in the prostate (which increases oxygen and nutrients to the gland), reducing congestion and often improve urinary flow.
The American Cancer Society suggests that all men 50 and over receive a yearly prostate screening. Men who are at higher than average risk should start talking to their doctor about the topic of prostate cancer at 40 or 45.

The choice to partake in prostate milking is entirely up to you. You may want to talk to your doctor in advance about the benefits of prostate massage to gain greater insight.
Finally, prostate massage may not be a good idea if you have a medical issue, such as an enlarged prostate. Again, consulting with your physician is advised.
